چکیده
Największe i najstarsze karmelitańskie sanktuarium św. Józefa zostało ufundowane w nieistniejącym kościele Michała Archanioła Józefa, powstałym na Podzamczu Krakowie. Klasztor został zbudowany latach 1611- 1637. obrębie murów obronnych miasta, za aprobatą biskupa Piotra Tylickiego przy wsparciu dobroczyńców. W dniu 26 października 1636 roku biskup krakowski Jakub Zadzik, konsekrował kościół ołtarz główny pod wezwaniem oblubieńca Najświętszej j Matki Bożej.
